Focus on Sabrina Agasha
Meet the red hot, Agasha Sabrina, a third year Mass communication student at KIU, a radio presenter at Hot 100 and TV Host at Urban TV (The hood). She shares her life story with the giraffe times and now with you, this is what she has to say.
What do you consider your greatest achievement so far?
My greatest achievement has been pursuing my dream job and working for the biggest media house in the country.
Who inspired you to join broadcasting?
I was inspired by all the strong women in the media who also passionately and unapologetically followed their dreams and managed to turn them into reality like Wendy Williams and Bonang Matheba.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself on not only a bigger platform but an international one. Not even the sky is the limit to what I plan to achieve.
Do you have any regrets?
I regret having lost a lot of my time on things that would not contribute to my goals and aspirations. For example, I took up jobs because I wanted the money but not because I was passionate about them
Given a chance to change the world, what would you change?
I would like to change people’s attitude towards life. A lot of the times, I see people around me settling for less simply because they do not believe they are capable of doing great things. I believe we can be and do anything we put our minds to. But it all starts with your attitude.
What are your thoughts about gender equality?
I feel strongly about this, I believe that gender equality and women empowerment is more than the key to the development of any home, community or nation. It’s really about fairness and justice to women and no one has the right to take that away from us, also no girl or woman should accept this, we have to keep pressing on and fighting for what we deserve. I am lucky to have a father who is a gender equitable man. And I have brothers and friends who are good men and I hope other men out there can understand the fact that we all need each other and so we need to treat each other fairly.
